Since I no longer watch sitcoms, I'm not sure whether the old convention of the catch phrase still exists.  However, I'm sure everyone remembers these signature words and phrases that were meant to elicit familiar laughter and even short-term nostalgia, and which immediately bring to mind the characters who uttered the lines.  Sergeant Schultz had "I see nothink!"  JJ Evans had "Dyn-o-MITE!"  Arnold Jackson had "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?"

This morning I accidentally discovered what my catch phrase is.

I had slept on the couch last night, and the Elder Son's bedroom is adjacent to our living room.  I woke up to the sounds of him calling out to see if anyone in the house was awake.  As often happens first thing in the morning, I farted quite loudly.

"Daddy!" was his gleeful response from behind the door.
